09 Self-initiated brief
2300 Festival
The city as a playground.
A self-initiated project imagined for a hip-hop and rap festival in La Chaux-de-Fonds, bringing together artists from the American and French scenes around a programme mixing music with other artistic work.
The visual identity draws directly on the territory. The aerial map of La Chaux-de-Fonds — nicknamed “little New York” for its grid-plan urbanism — becomes graphic matter, to be selected, turned around and redrawn.
The figure 2300, the city’s postcode, settles into that grid through a play of overlays and shapes. Map and type mix to make a visual language at once urban, structured and dynamic.
